PPF edges starting to lift – any way to fix it myself or should I just take it back? (4 อ่าน)

I've had paint protection film on my car for just over a year now, and I noticed the other day that a tiny corner near the front bumper is starting to lift up, maybe a centimeter or so, and it's driving me crazy because I spent good money on this and I don't want it to get worse. I've been reading up on this and apparently it's pretty common, especially if the edges weren't properly heat-sealed during installation or if the film got caught during a wash . I'm tempted to try fixing it myself with a bit of heat from a hairdryer and pressing it back down, but I've also read that you need to be really careful because if dirt gets trapped underneath, the adhesive bond is pretty much ruined . I've also seen people mention using a bit of isopropyl alcohol to clean the edge first before reactivating the adhesive with heat . Has anyone here actually done this successfully, or am I better off just taking it back to the installer to sort out before it gets worse and I end up needing a full panel replacement? I'm particularly worried about whether Causes of PPF film peeling and the right way to fix it involves more than just a quick DIY fix, and I really don't want to make things worse by messing around with it myself. Any advice from people who've been through this would be massively appreciated because I'm not sure whether to panic or just chill out about it.
